M.S. in General Health Psychology and Neuropsychology
I am a Spanish psychologist offering treatment in both English and Spanish. I currently work with children, adults and families.
Education and experience
I have a degree in Psychology from the University of Granada. Subsequently, I received a Master’s of General Health Psychology, essential in Spain to perform psychotherapy. Later, I continued my training with a Master’s in Neuropsychology.
I worked for six years in a private neurorehabilitation clinic. There, I have specialized in conducting evaluations of various disorders and developmental concerns, as well as designing and carrying out individual intervention plans. In addition, I worked for two years in a private clinical psychology center, specializing in general psychological treatments.
How I work
The first step in starting an intervention is to establish a calm and trusting environment where you can express yourself and feel emotions safely. If we do not first establish a good therapeutic relationship, it will be difficult to achieve a good intervention. At the same time, we will focus on knowing and analyzing what your main concerns are as we start working. The use of third-generation interventions, together with a cognitive-behavioral (CBT) approach, allows us to intervene not only in your current problems but also in associated difficulties.
Psychological treatment can never only involve one person; it is imperative that both you and I are actively involved in the process. To do this, we use the most appropriate treatment approach for your particular case. Therapeutic work includes therapy sessions, informed by techniques such as dialogue, questioning and intervention in maladaptive thinking, along with some activities or tasks to be done outside the consultation, with the aim that you are an active participant in the intervention. Psychological intervention is a process that is more fruitful if we walk it together.
