Wechsler Individual achievement Test — 4
Academic achievement is assessed, in part, with the Wechsler Individual Achievement Test (WIAT-4). It is used to assess children ages 4-20, and measures abilities in school subjects, such as reading, writing, math, etc.
Your child will sit down with a psychologist for about 1-2 hours. We may use this assessment in conjunction with other assessment tools to identify underlying concerns.
The Wechsler Individual Achievement Test, 4th edition (WIAT-4), is a tool that is used in a variety of clinical, educational, and research settings to assess academic achievement, including learning difficulties in reading, written expression, and mathematics. Through the analyses of academic achievement, it supports diagnoses of specific learning disabilities and intervention planning. We further use it to test for dyslexia screening and evaluation. It is approved and normed for use with ages 4-50.
