Hypnotherapy

Hypnosis is a therapeutical method to induce a so called state of trance. The hypnotic trance is a different state of brain activity, that allows it to achieve changes in different areas.

What Is Hypnosis?

Hypnotherapy is a proven and scientifically recognized method that gently guides you into a state of trance. In this special state, your attention turns inward, allowing thoughts, images, and emotions to be experienced more vividly while you remain fully conscious and in control at all times.

How Does Hypnosis Work?

Through carefully chosen words, guided imagery, and focused suggestions, your mind enters a highly concentrated state. This usually begins with a gentle induction—for example, focusing on your breath or fixing your gaze on a single point.

Once in trance, inner images and imagination are used to access the deeper layers of your mind. In this space, memories can be re-examined, distressing experiences reframed, and hidden strengths brought to light. At the end, you are guided smoothly back into full clarity and wakefulness.

Why Does Hypnosis Work?

In trance, the brain naturally connects with unconscious processes—much like in a dream, where thoughts and feelings flow freely without everyday filters. Research shows that hypnosis activates specific brain areas responsible for focus, imagination, and emotional balance.

This unique state makes it possible to dissolve inner blockages, break old patterns, and create lasting change from within. Hypnotherapy taps into the mind’s natural power to support healing, self-reflection, and personal growth.

Where Can Hypnosis Help?

Hypnotherapy can be applied in many areas of life—whether in psychotherapy or personal coaching:

  • Releasing fears & phobias (e.g., test anxiety, fear of flying)
  • Support with depression and burnout
  • Stress relief and deep relaxation
  • Quitting smoking and other habit changes
  • Boosting self-esteem and motivation
  • Finding clarity in goals and purpose
  • Overcoming sleep difficulties

The Goal Of Hypnosis

Hypnotherapy doesn’t just focus on easing symptoms—it helps uncover their roots and transform them for lasting results. At the same time, it strengthens the inner resources that are already within you, waiting to be activated.

Examples From Practice

  • A stressful exam situation can be reprogrammed into a positive inner image—so instead of fear, you experience calm focus and confidence.
  • In smoking cessation, the craving for a cigarette might be reduced by deeply anchoring feelings of freedom and lightness.
