About Me
I am a licensed psychologist. After my psychology studies (M. Sc.) in Würzburg with a study abroad period in Montreal, Canada, I completed a doctoral program at the University of Würzburg. As I missed direct patient contact in basic research, I switched to therapeutic practice after my doctorate. In 2023, I earned my certification as a licensed psychologist at the Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Verhaltensmodifikation (AVM gGmbH) in Munich. With my license in hand, I moved to Denmark in the summer of 2023 and now offer psychotherapy in both German and English.
During my training I treated a wide range of mental disorders and patients of all age groups, with a particular focus on adolescents and young adults. Additionally, I have worked for several years as a psychologist in an inpatient setting on a burnout ward, where the focus was primarily on treating stress-related mental disorders such as burnout, depression, anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorders, as well as post-traumatic stress disorder.
I have additional qualifications in the areas of trauma therapy, group psychotherapy, autogenic training, progressive muscle relaxation according to Jacobson, Cognitive Behavioral Analysis System of Psychotherapy (CBASP), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT, according to de Shazer).
My Therapeutic Approach
Stressful life events, professional or personal challenges, stress, and interpersonal conflicts can impair mental well-being and quality of life, even leading to the manifestation of serious psychological symptoms. Approximately every second person experiences a mental disorder at some point in their life. However, psychological suffering can be effectively treated with individually tailored psychotherapy. As a psychologist, I support you on your path to better mental well-being and improved quality of life in an empathetic, accepting, and lovingly persistent manner. Given that the quality of the therapeutic relationship plays a central role, it is particularly important to me to build a trusting and respectful working relationship.
I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). In this spirit, I follow a transparent and goal-oriented approach. This means that we first work together to understand your specific problems and view them against the backdrop of your biography, before formulating the goals you want to achieve with therapy. Based on your goals and needs, I select the appropriate methods from a large pool of psychotherapeutic approaches, primarily from CBT (including cognitive methods, exposure, relaxation techniques, mindfulness-based approaches, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), CBASP), supplemented by methods from Systemic Therapy (resource activation, SFBT, Hypnosystemic Therapy) and Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT).
In the therapeutic process, the acceptance of challenges is just as important as the development of solution strategies. I always encourage you to integrate what you have worked on into your daily life and bring your experiences back into therapy.
It is important to me to continuously reflect on my therapeutic approach and align it with the current state of psychotherapy research to provide you with the best possible framework for your treatment. Therefore, I regularly exchange ideas with colleagues about my treatments (intervision), seek supervision, and attend further training.
I look forward to working with you.
