EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

I’m a licensed psychologist with a specialization in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
I received my Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc.) in psychology from the University of Groningen and my Masters (M.Sc.) in clinical psychology from Leiden University.

Following my studies, I earned my certification as a licensed psychologist at the Academy for Behavioral Therapy (AVT) in Cologne.

I have several years of therapeutic experience with various mental disorders, different therapeutic settings (outpatient clinic, private practice, individual, couple and group therapy) and different patient groups (adults and adolescents).

I grew up in Germany and lived in the US and the Netherlands for several years before coming to Denmark. I offer therapy in German and English.

What happens in Therapy?

Sometimes stress, traumas, and conflicts can cause symptoms or simply make you feel dissatisfied with your life. I would like to support you in finding your way back to contentment and psychological well-being.

In the process of therapy, a trusting relationship at eye level is very important to me. You can rely on my openness, transparency and appreciation. Since every individual brings their own life story, emotions, needs and resources, we will work on an individual treatment plan tailored to your specific needs. In the process of therapy it usually is very important to understand how problems, dysfunctional patterns or symptoms developed in the past, in order to be able to deal with them in the present and change them in the long term.

The aim of therapy is to introduce you to helpful tools that you can implement in your daily life when needed. 

As a therapist trained in cognitive behavioral therapy, I draw from a broad set of methods and approaches in my sessions, that are always tailored to your specific needs.
