Carina Winther Jørgensen

I am a Danish psychologist providing therapy in Danish, English and French for adults individually and couples. I have 10 years of experience working as a therapist in Paris and am now living and working in Copenhagen.

WHO AM I?

I have master’s degree from the University of Copenhagen and have 10 years of experience working as a therapist in Paris both in private practice and in public health care. Additionally, I am a trained EFT (Emotionally Focalized Therapy) couples’ therapist.

ABOUT ME

I live here in Copenhagen together with my French husband and our two kids

My Philosophy: In therapy I take an integrative approach since I believe the best experience and the best outcome comes from an interaction between the therapist and the patient. I will thus draw form several different approaches and techniques in cooperation with you as a patient to meet your needs and wishes.

All conversations are protected by patient confidentiality and I intent to create a warm and personal space entailing safety and comfort. I will receive you with interest and curiosity and with respect for your person and your values and beliefs.

I am trained in EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy), Mindfulness and Schema-therapy and Structural Dissociation.

I WORK WITH THE FOLLOWING THEMATICS ON A REGULAR BASIS:

  • Relationship difficulties
  • Fertility
  • Anxiety and Depression
  • Problems related to a childhood with parents struggling with substance abuse
  • Questions surrounding identity, gender, self construction, and the challenges of a new stage in life
  • Culture shock and troubles adjusting to a new culture
  • Functional disorders (Psychosomatic disorders)

MEMBERSHIPS

I am a member of the Danish organisations of psychologists (Dansk Psykolog Forening) and the French organisation for health professionals (ADELI).

THERAPY AND COUNSELLING

People come to see me for different reasons: Some come due to a desire for personal development, some want help dealing with a concrete problem and others are facing big and perhaps sudden changes in their lives.

With life come emotions and it is inevitable that we will face adversity of different kinds and these might entail emotions of a different nature; anxiety, jealousy, loneliness, insecurity, grief, helplessness, sadness, disappointment, anger, shame etc. Sometimes it can be helpful to look for professional help to find one’s way in these emotions.
